Wintering Pozible Campaign Launched!

22. April 2013

Wintering is Aimee Smith's latest dance work, inspired by the strength and fragility of an iced landscape.

In late 2010 I was blessed with the opportunity to voyage to the High Arctic where I found myself overwhelmed by the immense beauty and fragility of this magnificent place. It was this emotional landscape, very rarely spoken of, that has inspired the making of Wintering.

The work features a cast and creative team of West Australian talent, including live sound and video performances by Craig McElhinney and Kynan Tan, sound design by Ben Taaffe, lighting design by Trent Suidgeest and performances by the beautiful Rhiannon Newton and Jenni Large.

Wintering premiered last year in Melbourne at The Next Wave Festival. We are now re-staging the show in its hometown at State Theatre Centre of Western Australia, followed by a regional tour to Mandurah, Albany and Ravensthorpe in June 2013. As an independent contemporary dance artist, to present such a season is quite an undertaking. We have received some great support so far. Nevertheless, this Pozible campaign is to fill the gap in the budget and will ensure our West Australian artists are paid properly and the work is the best it can possibly be.

We are trying to raise $4,500 over the next month so if you think this is a project worth supporting please spare us a few $$ and donate. There are some wintery rewards for extra generous donations and a whole lot of love for everyone.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
